Emotions are indicators that identify the condition of the heart in a particular moment. Often encouraged not to trust or pay attention, many of the signals that emotions send are ignored and silenced.
Extended seasons of silenced emotions eventually lead to the formation of a calloused, impenetrable wall surrounding the heart, making little room for the beauty that emotions alone can spark!
I am learning to appreciate emotions’ purpose, power, and beauty, for feelings are evidence of life.
So, whether I am laughing or crying, my emotions, heavy or light, remind me that my heart is pliable and ALIVE, and I am indeed alright!

The ability to feel my feelings and accept them, whether they’re uplifting or discouraging, has been liberating. I used to try to force positive emotions, making myself believe there was no value in feelings like sadness, overwhelm, or discouragement.

I know now that all feelings are beneficial because feeling my negative or positive emotions is evidence of an alive heart. A living heart is desirable because it can grow in love, receive and apply wisdom, and heal when necessary.

So, feel your emotions, both the positive and adverse ones, because they indicate that you are alive, growing, and getting better day by day.
